Rava Upma



Ingredients


  • 1 Cup Rava(Semolina)
  • 1 Tablespoon Urad Dal
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2-3 chopped green chili(As per your taste)
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
  • 5-7 Cashew nuts
  • 2-3 Curry leaves
  • 3 Tablespoon Ghee or Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste



Recipe


  • Soak the Urad Dal for 15-20 minutes in the water
  • Sift rava through a muslin.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon ghee in a pan and fry rava lightly.keep stirring continuously so that rava will not get burnt.
  • Now add 2 tablespoon of ghee to another pan . 
  • Add Mustard seeds, Cumin seeds,curry leaves and cashew nuts
  • Add chopped onion & Green chili fry it for 1 minutes.
  • Then add Urad Dal and keep frying.
  • Add lemon juice and stir it well
  • Now add 3 cup of water and salt to taste
  • Once water started boiling add semolina(Rava) to it and keep stirring 
  • continuously.Add rava slowly so that there will not be any lumps into Upma .
  • cover the pan and cook it for 2-3 minutes(Until Rava is cooked nicely)
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Rava Upma is ready to serve.
